Toronto 2019’s cool kid on the block will hold its next homecoming concert in just a few months. This time, the spotlight will be on a very interesting lineup of some of the city’s biggest, least original but best-known musical acts, including Soundgarden, My Morning Jacket, Rebelution, the Sheepdogs, John K. Samson and Pat Metheny.
Confirmed headliners for the 12th annual Toronto International Jazz Festival, a free event that celebrates jazz, the blues and Canadian culture, include Soundgarden (including original members Chris Cornell and Kim Thayil), former Creedence Clearwater Revival member John Fogerty, and the legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.
Other well-known artists include Langhorne Slim and The Law, Donna Channer, Robert Randolph and Firehouse Fingers, and Abe Vigoda.
Winners of the annual Toronto International Jazz Festival Award for Innovation will also be celebrated at the festival, including Bonobo, KK Liu and Gwyneth Thornley.
The event, which begins June 28 and runs to July 8, will feature 1,700 artists and musicians.
Tickets and more information about the festival can be found on their website.
