This week, Davidson was hired as an adjunct researcher at Climate Central. With ten years of reporting experience across coastal cities in DC, Florida, and Louisiana, Davidson built an immediate, trusted reputation for serving as the right people needed to get the data, a relevant context, and tools needed for an informed conversation on urban sea level rise.
Davidson’s journalism experience includes:
USA Today and Tampa Bay Times
United Press International
Channel 8 Tampa Bay
Fox News-22, WGRZ-TV, WJBK-TV, Detroit News, & WNEM NewsChannel 5
The Tampa Tribune, Tampa Tribune (Knoxville)
Davidson will have a say on the content, features, and policy side of the project. Shively will handle the photography and video journalism requirements. This project will be funded in part through a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, along with other funding from the Environmental Journalism Fund of the Investigative Fund at the Center for Public Integrity.

This project uses the most current scientific forecasts and data to identify critical gaps and challenges facing coastal cities. With information and resources published weekly over five years, the project will produce weekly reports, county-by-county, explaining a direct connection between rising sea levels and certain cities’ development, population, and economic resilience.
