MARK HALPERIN, CNN WASHINGTON BUREAU CHIEF: Mollie, I just got off the phone with other members of the new team, including Cathy McCourt, the new environment minister. She’s in London. She flew in over the weekend.
She’s sort of the administration’s new person on the mission. On the surface, she’s the women that people have been making some headway on. I’m not just talking about this meeting, by the way.
But there’s another significant shift in leadership. And that’s on the international side. John Bolton is no longer in this cabinet. The foreign minister in Nairobi — in Rwanda, and so all of a sudden on the international side, that pretty much would be a very close relationship with the President.
You look at Mattis and Kelly and others, they’re no longer in their jobs.
So there will be a real institutional shift on the international side of the White House.
